Skin fungus is treatable. Creams and ointments are available over-the-counter, but the prescription strength anti-fungal ingredient is sometimes needed. Pills are also available to treat certain types of fungal infections.
Some of the most common types of skin fungus are:
- Athlete’s foot – Affects feet, typically affects males;
- Jock itch – Affects groin area, typically affects males;
- Tinea corporis – Affects trunk and extremities, typically affects females.
